Are you buying real 65/35 poly/cotton in HV?

There are many hi-vis garments claiming 65/35 poly/cotton on their labels, but are they real? The answer is not absolutely…

We noticed some labels are totally not conforming to the fabric composition. Even we don’t test the cotton percentage in formal lab, the composition is definitely not correct to the naked eye. Some are using 75/25 poly/cotton, you are lucky… The worst are using 85/15 poly/cotton. Everybody knows cotton is not cheap, the less the cotton is mixed, the lower the cost would be.

We have put a comparison photo here, marking the percentage. You don’t need to waste money for testing in lab, it is quite visible from the cotton backside so you can know what you are really offered from your supplier. As cotton can not be dyed in hi-vis color, the backside would be quite white if there is 35% cotton. On the contrary, the backside would be quite hi-vis if the cotton is less.

Hope we can help you to distinguish with an easiest way!
